Strategy and investment criteria
Strategy and target group
KBC Private Equity provides development capital to and finances buy-outs of medium-sized unlisted companies for amounts between €2 million and €50 million. As such, KBC Private Equity is positioning itself in a wide niche market between small, local funds on the one hand, and very large Anglo-Saxon players on the other.
KBC Private Equity contributes financial resources in the form of equity finance (through capital increases or acquiring existing shares) and/or in the form of mezzanine finance (usually a subordinated loan which can - either totally or partially - be converted into share capital). Sometimes both products are combined in order to provide a tailored financing solution.
KBC Private Equity can take both majority and minority interests in companies. In all cases, KBC Private Equity attaches a great deal of importance to working closely with the other shareholders and management, who are usually involved in profit-sharing or other incentive schemes.
