Strategy and investment criteria
Investment philosoph
As an active shareholder with a long-term perspective, KBC Private Equity is involved in taking strategic decisions and providing support to management. Besides providing financial resources, KBC Private Equity aims to create value in areas where it is skilled, but without involving itself in the day-to-day operational policy. Usually KBC Private Equity has a seat on the Board of Directors.
Hence, KBC Private Equity is a stable partner, open to making follow-up investments, but also insistent on transparency, sound company structures and compliance with the rules of corporate governance.
In practice, KBC Private Equity has shown that it can contribute in five main areas:
- evaluating internal and external growth opportunities (the so-called ‘buy and build’ approach)
- optimizing the company’s financial structure
- introducing new customer and supplier relationships
- improving reporting systems (if necessary)
- sharing specific industry knowledge
